Course Aim
To give you the skills and the confidence to deal with accidents and medical emergencies in a wilderness or remote setting where the arrival of emergency services can be delayed.
The course meets the requirements of many outdoor National Governing Bodies such as for Mountaineering Irelands Mountain Leader Programme.
Course length 16 hours

Included items
Each student will receive :
Emergency First Aid Handbook
A pocket mask, with case and gloves
A face Shield on a key ring
Red emergency card
FAST assessment card
Relevant handouts.
Pre-requisites
There are no pre-requisites for this course, however experience in the outdoors environment is an advantage.
Who should do it ?
Anyone involved in outdoor recreation or work will benefit.
In particular anyone with responsibility for others such as outdoor professionals, mountain leaders, scout leaders and expedition providers will gain confidence and skills from this course.
Certification
Certificate in Wilderness First Aid from Venturesafe, valid for 2 years.

Course Numbers and Location
This course is not limited however we try to keep it at one instructor for each eight students (if CFR included) or ten students (without CFR) to maximise practical elements and learning. This course can be run anywhere.
