Course Aim
Fire Warden Training Course has been designed to meet the requirements of both the 1981 Fire services act and regulation 9 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work act 2005.
Course Content
The mechanics of fire, smoke and dangerous gases.
Fire extinguishers, hose reel equipment and fire suppressants.
Incidents involving flammable liquids and gases.
Storage of flammable liquids and gases.
Common fire safety features.
Elements of compartmentation.
Means of escape.
Duties of the fire marshal in emergency, pre emergency and post emergency situations.
Hazard spotting and elimination of bad practices.
Legislation.
Methods of Evacuation
Course Objectives
On completion of the Fire Warden Training Course, participants will be able to;
List their duties as fire wardens
Describe the chemistry of fire
Identify fire hazards in the workplace
Assist in the management of evacuation procedures and drills
Select and use the appropriate fire fighting equipment to deal with an undeveloped fire
Pre-requisites
There are no pre-requisites for this course, however participants should be capable of lifting and operating of fire extinguishers , participants will be required to self assess their ability to carry out the manual handling as part of the course.
The course also incorporates the Fire Safety Awareness Course
Who should do it ?
All businesses need to have a sufficient number of trained Fire Marshals to ensure an evacuation in the event of fire.

Course Numbers and Location
This course is limited to one instructor for each twelve students to maximise practical elements and learning. This course can be run at your business which is the preferred location as it allows the participants to view their own fire safety measures.
