Course Aim
Course Content
The Irish VHF SRC course covers a range of topics, including the international phonetic alphabet, distress and safety communications, and the use of digital selective calling (DSC). By completing this course and passing the state exam, you'll gain a thorough understanding of VHF radio communication protocols and procedures, enabling you to communicate with confidence and clarity on the water.
Obtaining an Irish VHF SRC is also a legal requirement for anyone operating a VHF radio in Irish waters and is required to apply for a ships radio licence.
Course Objectives
On completion of the Fire Safety Awareness Training Course, participants will be able to;
List their responsibilities to fire as employees
Describe the chemistry of fire
Identify fire hazards in the workplace
React correctly to evacuation procedures and drills
Select and use the appropriate fire fighting equipment to deal with an undeveloped fire
Pre-requisites
Participants should be at least 16 years of age.
Students should also have a sufficient level of English to understand the content delivered.
Certification

Certification is issued by the Dept of Transport and currently has no expiry date.

Course Numbers and Location
This course is limited to one instructor for each twelve students to maximise practical elements and learning. This course can be run at your business or in your club.
